John Z. Kallabat: Associate

Mr. Kallabat is a native of Metro Detroit and a 1987 graduate of Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice High School. Mr. Kallabat is a graduate of Wayne State University business school where he majored in finance. Following his studies at Wayne State University, Mr. Kallabat attended University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is a 1993 graduate.

In 1996, Mr. Kallabat founded of Kallabat & Associates P.C. Mr. Kallabat has focused his practice on consumer bankruptcy law. His practice focuses on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Mr. Kallabat has represented more than 20,000 individuals and has filed more than 5,000 bankruptcy cases since 1994. Mr. Kallabat represents a wide range of bankruptcy clients with cases involving typical consumer bankruptcy clients as well as complex bankruptcy litigation.

Jeffrey Kallabat is a native of Metro Detroit and a 1992 graduate of Andover High School. Mr. Kallabat then attended the business school at Wayne State University, majoring in finance and graduating with honors. Following his studies at Wayne State University, Mr. Kallabat attended law school at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and is a 2001 graduate of that school.

Following graduation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2001, Mr. Kallabat immediately began to practice in the area bankruptcy law at Kallabat & Associates, P.C.

Lori Reinwasser | Paralegal

Lori Reinwasser is a Bankruptcy Paralegal and has been employed by Kallabat &Associates, P.C. since February 2014. Ms. Reinwasser graduated in 2011 from Oakland Community College with a Degree in Paralegal Studies. Ms. Reinwasser has worked as a bankruptcy paralegal since January, 2011. She has extensive experience in preparing and filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases as well as the preparation of fee applications. Ms. Reinwasser currently is a Chapter 13 paralegal handling Pre and Post-Confirmation cases. Ms. Reinwasser maintains a case load of over 200 clients and is responsible for the preparation of motions, pleadings, plan modifications, and other legal documents. She also handles calendar management for multiple filings and deadlines. In addition, she answer phone calls and emails from clients, the Trustee’s office, Internal Revenue Service, The State of Michigan and other various creditors to resolve objections to confirmation. She also prepares objections to proof of claims and well as resolving Motions to Dismiss and Motions for Relief of the Automatic Stay. Ms. Reinwasser reviews and prepares cases for 341 – Meeting of Creditors and preps cases for discharge. She is proficient in plan calculations and the review of cases. She utilizes PACER, ECF, Best Case, and Bill for Time on a daily basis. She works closely with the lead attorney but also works well, independently and unsupervised.

Rena Jirjis | Paralegal

Ms. Jirjis has been working for Kallabat & Associates, PC since May, 2019.  Ms. Jirjis prepares pre-and-post confirmation fee applications; reviews and drafts various forms of correspondence; prepares and reviews pleadings and motions; reviews and objects to proof of claims; and assists attorneys in resolving outstanding case issues.  She also possesses knowledge and experience in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases.
